Sam Raimi’s Send Help is a genre mashup of office place comedy of manners and Castaway, which sounds like it shouldn’t work, but actually does. It fits squarely in the space where horror meetings gratuitous violence which yields more laughter than jump scares. There are one or two twists that allow for you to truly reassess your allegiances, while also giving you something to like as both surrogate captor and captive. Part of the fun of Send Help is the way that Raimi gives you something to love and hate in both of us equally matched foes.
